History is all around us. It may be housed in a person, sometimes in a monument and especially in places. Sutter’s Fort State Historic Park is one of those places.
It is considered the foundation of modern Sacramento and the gateway to weary pioneers and their families arriving in wagon trains from around the country. It is full of intriguing stories of early pioneers and how they lived in the dawn of the Gold Rush of California.
