- If you go
Where: The Mastermind Hunt: Sacramento — Superhero Edition, Courtyard at 1801 L. Street, Sacramento.
When: 4 to 7:30 p.m. Saturday. Check-in begins at 3 p.m.
Cost: $20 for online registration, due by 2 p.m. today; $25 on the day of the event.

Considerations: Participants should bring their sense of adventure and an open mind, comfortable footwear since there is plenty of walking to be done, a writing tool, weather appropriate clothing and a clipboard. Snacks and water are always a good option, too. An Internet enabled phone or mobile device, a calculator, digital camera and highlighters for marking your map would also be helpful.

Your team is assembled and you have your map in hand. Your mission? Help create a new superhero on the streets of Midtown and Downtown Sacramento by scavenging for clues and solving puzzles and riddles during The Mastermind Hunt: Sacramento — Superhero Edition. You and your team will use your collective brain power to finish a series of challenges quicker than other teams and arrive at the finish line with more correct answers than them.
During the event, your team will use its wits, creativity and spirit of adventure while learning about landmarks, businesses and secret locations from Sacramento’s past and present. All clues are within walking distance so no bikes or public transit are allowed. You are free to use all resources that are independent of the hunt, but you cannot phone home to have someone do online research for you — however, you can consult people on the street, ask vendors for information, check a telephone book or dictionary and even go into a bookstore for assistance.
