What is the attraction: Next time you are driving into the Bay Area, stop off at Treasure Island to grab a perfect photo of San Fransisco Bay and the city. While it might not be a full day stop, you can do some quick exploring when the weather is nice.
History: In 1939, Treasure Island was constructed and connected to Yerba Buena Island and was built using imported fill for the World's Fair. It served as a naval base during World War II and was mainly an electronics and radio communications training school.
