“Capt’n! There be whales here.” OK, there may be no whales here in Lodi, but not too far north and along the coast you will find plenty. It is the time of year when more than 20,000 California Gray Whales make their way from Alaska and the Bearing Sea along the California coast to Baja California, where they will breed and bring the next generation of gray whales into the world.
And then after a short respite, they will complete their migration cycle by returning to their northern homes.
