Local nonprofits seeking Christmas assistance for Lodi’s less fortunate

Local nonprofit organizations are once again gearing up for the holiday season and are seeking assistance for families who are in need this season. The following is a list of what is needed. Families who sign up for food or toys may only sign up for one organization.

The Salvation Army needs donations of new, unwrapped toys along with turkeys and canned foods for Christmas dinners. Businesses have angel trees with ornaments that include the name and profile of a child along with their Christmas wish. Some of the businesses include St. Peter Lutheran Church, Vinewood Church, St. John’s Episcopal Church, Emanuel Lutheran Church, Temple Baptist Church, First Baptist Church, Walmart and Salon Sirah. The deadline to drop off gifts is Dec. 17. Volunteers will also be needed to help pack Christmas food boxes on Dec. 19 and bag the toys on Dec. 21. For more information, call 369-5896.
