What’s the attraction: Established in 1924 by Danish settlers Anton and Juliette Andersen, Andersen’s Pea Soup is the home of the famous pea soup that has been a part of California history for almost 90 years. Whether you are on your way to the central coast or to Southern California, drop in for a bite and a bit of browsing.
For eats and drinks: Before your meal, stop in the pub for a pre-meal cocktail. You can then dine in the main room and enjoy classic sandwiches such as a chicken sandwich, a philly steak and cheese sandwich, patty melt or monte cristo. Some specialty sandwiches include a hot turkey sandwich or a hot pork loin sandwich. You can also enjoy a soup and sandwich combo that includes a 10 ounce bowl of fresh pea soup and a half sandwich of tuna or chicken salad. After your meal, make a stop to the bakery, where you can purchase freshly baked pastries. There is also an area across from the bakery where you can sample specialty cheeses.
