What is the attraction: Built in 1998, the nonprofit museum works in partnership with the state of California to showcase materials from the state archives. The two-story museum is home to the California Hall of Fame, and features on-going and short-term exhibits featuring California's history and contributions through ideas, innovation, arts and culture.
What to do: Wander through the building on a self-guided tour to learn about California's past. Inside the front doors, a large wall features the faces and facts of the current California Hall of Fame inductees. There are over a half-dozen on-going exhibits to check out.
