Send children to school with smarter lunches, snacks

From kindergarten until college, those of us with children are facing a busy back to school season.

The earlier you can teach healthy eating and food choices, the greater likelihood those lessons will stick as children go off to college or start living independently. “Food is medicine” and “food is more powerful than medicine,” Dr. Mark Hyman said recently on a popular TV show. In her column in the July 27 issue of the News-Sentinel, pharmacist Suzy Cohen focuses our attention to the huge importance of eating from what I call “nature’s wrapper.”
