When: Daily tours are offered in the summer from Memorial Day through Labor Day, every half hour from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. In April, May and September, every hour from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. October through March at 10 a.m.,noon and 2 p.m.
Cost: $14 to $24 for a guide boat and cavern tour. Season passes are available for $35 to $60.

Have you visited the newest national park in the west? If not then Lake Shasta Caverns should be on your list. Lake Shasta Caverns was created through volcanic forces and water erosion. In the 1870’s, a fish hatchery and small town were built on the McCloud River, now they are both 300 feet underwater.
The cavern tour starts on a 65-foot catamaran crossing the crystal blue waters of Lake Shasta. After a short bus ride you enter the caverns that date back about 250 million years.
