McHenry Mansion provides look into Modesto’s past

The McHenry Mansion in Modesto was built in 1883 by Robert McHenry, a local rancher and banker. In 1923, the Victorian was converted into apartments until it was purchased by the Julio Gallo Foundation in 1976.

It has been restored and has been open for the public to tour. Last year a small fire closed the mansion temporarily but it is currently open seven days a week for tours. Linda Collins, president of the McHenry Mansion Foundation, recently took some time so share what the museum has to offer.
