Matthew Cummins is working with the Peace Corps in Santo Domingo, Dominican Republic, where he is in charge of an orphanage of 30 boys, called the House of Refuge.

The House of Refuge is a Christian, home-like environment that provides food, shelter, love, support, care, daily education and spiritual nurturing. Before the children were taken in, they lived in the streets. The children stay in the orphanage until they are 16 or 17, find a job and move on.
