Witness a post-apocalyptic world at the Obtainium Cup Contraptor's Road Rally

Where: Third annual Obtainium Cup Contraptor’s Road Rally, beginning at the Coal Shed Art Studios at 4th & Waterfront, Mare Island, Vallejo.
When: Race begins at 3 p.m. and ends no later than 6 p.m.
Cost: Free to observe.
Considerations: Spectators are welcome at the starting line at 1 p.m. to see the participants set up, take a tour of the Coal Shed, shop at the steampunk-inspired vending booths and purchase food and refreshments. Parking for the event will be available at 4th and Connolly streets between Nimitz and Railroad Avenue — do not park in the lot on 4th street between Nimitz and the Coal Shed. If you drive your car to the different hazards, please use Railroad Avenue and park in the designated areas.

Are you ready to witness a mad-cap adventure through a post-apocalyptic world full of human-powered vehicles and bicycles? Can you handle the thought of hordes of zombies, flying monkeys, robots and maybe even a Mad Hatter or two invading your safe zone? If so, then you must find your way to the third annual Obtainium Cup Contraptor’s Road Rally in Vallejo.
During this 4-mile trek, you will observe teams in contraptions of their own design tackle many hazards including flying monkeys, brain-eating zombies and mad tea parties. And if you are observing the race from the comfort of your own bicycle, feel free to join in the adventure, but please observe road etiquette and rules.
