Nancy Alumbaugh rushed in and out of homes Monday with volunteers from the LOEL Center's Meals on Wheels program. The PALS volunteer carried a box of Scooby Doo dog biscuits and had a pocket full of colorful mice.
As quickly as possible, she talked to residents about a new collaboration between PALS (People Assisting Lodi Animal Shelter) and the LOEL Center: to deliver pet food twice a month to homebound seniors with pets. She had to be quick because the Meals on Wheels volunteers have a strict amount of time to deliver all the hot meals - two hours on routes winding through the streets of Lodi.
