When Andrew Rigopoulos’s son was diagnosed with autism a year ago, he and other parents of autistic children got together and decided there was a need for a support group in Lodi that would also help spread awareness. He came up with the name, “Layin' the Smackdown on Autism” after taking his son to a wrestling match.
He decided to hold a car show as the group’s first event and it was so successful that on Sunday, the second annual car show will be held. Rigopoulos took some time on a recent morning to talk about autism awareness and the event on Sunday.
