What’s the attraction: Founded over 150 years ago, Saratoga is one of the oldest towns in California. The downtown area has become known as The Village and features quaint shops, antique stories and a variety of restaurants in a picturesque setting. It sits on a steep hillside at the bottom of a long canyon, next to Saratoga Creek.
Shop till your heart’s content: There is a variety of shopping along the town’s main street, Big Basin Way. You can check out home decor/gift shops such as The Barn Owl, where you can find fun garden or home decor; or there is The Fat Robin, which features large furniture, wall hangings and rugs. You can browse through a variety of books at Book-Go-Round, a used book store that benefits the Saratoga Library. There are clothing shops such as Agnes or The Echo Shop as well as a jewelry shop, Deja & Co, which offers fashions from a number of jewelry designers. There are also antique shops and art galleries to visit.
