What’s the attraction: A large brick museum that has been located in the center of Stockton’s Victory Park for 80 years. The Haggin offers a look into the past, as well as artwork on display in the fine art galleries.

What to see: I went as a part of a class field trip with my daughter’s class, but the museum is open for visitors to take a stroll back in time through the many history galleries located in the building. There is a Pioneer Room, which focuses on the city of Stockton and its founder, Charles Weber; the California Room, which chronicles early California and Stockton history such as the Gold Rush and the Spanish missions; Holt Memorial Hall, featuring Stockton’s contributions to the area’s industrial history; a vehicle gallery; an American Indian gallery; and replicas of storefronts and businesses as they would have appeared at the turn of the century.
