University of the Pacific is looking to raise $50,000 to complete a documentary film about George Moscone, according to a press release from the university.

A 1953 graduate of the university, Moscone served as a state senator and later mayor of San Francisco, authoring legislation to create the state’s school lunch program and worked for gay rights legislation. Moscone also helped keep the San Francisco Giants baseball team from moving to Canada, and oversaw the integration of women and ethnic minorities into the San Francisco Police and Fire departments.
