Football: Cougars blank Hawks

Galt job training center holds grand opening

Dozens, including Rep. Jerry McNerney, D-Stockton, and Supervisor Don Nottoli turned out Wednesday for the official grand opening of the Sacramento Works Training Center in Galt. The program replaces the Galt Adult School, which was closed due to state funding reconfiguration.

Semi-truck hauling grapes overturns at on-ramp near Liberty Road

A semi-truck that was taking the southbound Highway 99 on-ramp off Liberty Road lost control and overturned around 8:20 a.m. Tuesday, Woodbridge Fire Chief Darren Downey said.

Death of therapeutic horse leaves hole in GALEP’s heart

Special K was just that. Last week, however, the therapeutic horse who worked with special education students for the past five years as part of the Galt Horse Assisted Learning Enrichment Program, or GALEP, was euthanized due to a tumor. He was 27.
