Semi-truck hauling grapes overturns at on-ramp near Liberty Road

A semi-truck that was taking the southbound Highway 99 on-ramp off Liberty Road lost control and overturned around 8:20 a.m. Tuesday, Woodbridge Fire Chief Darren Downey said.

Death of therapeutic horse leaves hole in GALEP’s heart

Special K was just that. Last week, however, the therapeutic horse who worked with special education students for the past five years as part of the Galt Horse Assisted Learning Enrichment Program, or GALEP, was euthanized due to a tumor. He was 27.

Church group to host poker run and barbecue

The group Disciples Benefitting Others is holding a Hot Rods and Harleys Poker Run and BBQ on Aug. 16. The kick-off for the hot rod portion of the day will be at 9:30 a.m. at Horizon Community Church, 446 Fairway Drive in Galt, with registration between 8 and 9:30 a.m.
