From left: Bob Johnson, Supinderjit Kaur, Phil Katzakian, Larry Hansen, JoAnne Mounce and Exodie Roe III hold a banner during the ribbon-cutting to celebrate the grand re-opening of Lodi Avenue in Lodi on Tuesday, Nov. 16, 2010. Lodi Avenue was closed in sections throughout most of the year as it underwent a $2.5 million revamping to both beautify the street and make it more able to handle the thousands of cars that cross it daily. The project was largely funded by monies from Measure K and federal stimulus funds. Peter Knight, owner of the A&W Root Beer on Lodi Avenue, said the restaurant is expected to have a remodel of its own in the coming months. The remodel will bring a drive-thru and energy-efficient upgrades to the restaurant. The project should begin soon and is expected to be finished in April 2011.
