A friend of mine recently passed and his wife naturally is emotionally distraught. Can you give any tips on how she moves forward financially?

Becoming a widow or widower for that matter at any age, is probably one of the most devastating and difficult challenges one must face. This can be particularly challenging for a surviving wife who was not actively participating in the family’s financial plans. Even if a wife had handled some or all of the finances, now everything is squarely on her shoulders and this can be overwhelming.
