Visit Lodi! keeps in touch with newly digitized world

It wasn’t that long ago when we primarily lived in a non-digitized world. We mailed letters with a stamp, used CDs for music, phone books were where we went for contact information, and wires tethered all of our electronic devices.

Be an agent of tourism for Lodi when taking a trip

I received a call last week from a local man who had recently been staying with his wife at an inn in Mendocino. Upon telling the innkeeper that he was from Lodi, he was instantly asked about our "terrorists."

Lodi in good position for tourism turnaround

A day doesn't pass without much talk about the slowing economy. It seems almost no industry has escaped the downturn in the economy, not even tourism. It is not surprising. After all, tourism is economic development, and travel is mostly a luxury.

Even small groups can make a big difference

I sat in a tourism conference earlier this week in Tucson, Ariz., my mind clicking off the dollars that the conference was bringing to the city of Tucson: 500-plus hotel room nights, fees to rent conference facilities, food and beverage, not to mention gift items and the dollars dropped by the attendee who indulged in spa, golf and sightseeing adventures.
