A manufacturing company in Lodi's industrial area was Exhibit A on Thursday when it comes to properly disposing toxic waste and reporting it promptly to authorities.
About a year ago, a tank containing some phosphate wash mixed with a clear-water rinse overflowed at Lodi Metal Tech on South Kelly Street. The Mokelumne River could have become polluted the next time it rained, but employees at Lodi Metal Tech reported the incident to city, county and state authorities, according to Jim Neal, compliance specialist from WGR Southwest, an environmental consulting firm with an office in Lodi.
