China. I must admit this ancient country is a place I never thought I would visit. But when the chance came up to go along with the travel group from the Lodi Chamber of Commerce — I am their communications director — I jumped at the chance. After telling my kids to go easy on their dad while I was gone, packing too many clothes and boarding a plane, I found myself in China’s capital city of Beijing.
At this point I could launch into descriptions of the true thrill of actually climbing the Great Wall and the wonder of the Forbidden City, to name just a couple, but the people who call China home have made the biggest impact on this California girl.
