Business is booming for Lodi's ArmorStruxx - no pun intended. The two-year-old manufacturer of a composite armor material has created around 500 jobs and generated $100 million in sales last year. It's no wonder then, that the company was chosen as the Industry of the Year.

"It's a humbling thing," said ArmorStruxx President Bob Doherty from his office overlooking the production floor. After all, the product they ship out - sometimes several times a day - is used to save soldiers' lives on the battlefield.

So you think the war is going to last forever? I think President Obama has some not so good news for the murder machine your business depends on. I am very proud that you do have a very successful business in Lodi and in that particular location.

Should graduations return to the Grape Bowl?

Lodi Unified leaders are moving Lodi and Tokay high school graduations from the Grape Bowl to the Spanos Center at UOP in Stockton. They cite limited seating, costs and unpredictable weather at the Grape Bowl. But others say graduations at the Grape Bowl are an important Lodi tradition, and one reason many supported renovating the stadium. What do you think?
