Target: SF

There are many Central Valley dwellers that don’t believe wine should cost more than $10 a bottle. On the other hand, I knew many Bay Area wine connoisseurs who regularly paid over $50 for a bottle of Cab.

As Lodi wineries and winegrowers produce more high-quality grapes and wine, the cost of production has been going up. That’s one reason you’re seeing more Lodi wines breaking the $30 price barrier.

Unfortunately, this means our own boutique wineries will very rapidly out-grow our little piece of Heaven and need to find bigger wallets elsewhere, such as San Francisco.

On Sunday, October 11 from 1pm to 5pm, our own wined-forces will take the Bay’s most strategic island by storm, supported by the U.S. Navy and a squadron of fighter pilots, during Lodi’s Treasure Island WineFest.

Corks will be flying from 45 wineries pouring only the fruits of Lodi’s vines. They’ll be accompanied by local olive oils, vinegars and cheeses to knock the socks of those who still think “stuck in Lodi” is a derogatory remark.

For $55 (in advance), guests will get a coveted parking spot and a front-row seat to watch the Blue Angels fly over skyscrapers while drinking some of the best Zin in California! Follow the fun at www.tiwinefest.com.
