About Lauren
Lauren Nelson writes lifestyle, arts and entertainment stories for the News-Sentinel. She spends most of her work week hanging out with cool people who have a passion for things like jumping out of airplanes, collecting weird things, attempting random careers, writing books and trying to bring a nightlife to Lodi-ville.
Lauren grew up all over Northern California, where she acquired about 20 nicknames as diverse as Barbie and Gangsta’. Instead of taking everyone in the world’s advice of becoming a lawyer or business woman, she moved to SoCal for five years and picked up two degrees in creative writing and journalism. She lives on the outskirts of Galt, where her adorable puppy has plenty of running (and Frisbee) room, and where Lauren can decoupage, collage, oil paint, write her novel, bead, sew, learn to play the guitar and create kitchen masterpieces without being invaded by paparazzi.
