Last pre-marathon post
If you don’t want to hear about how I’m going to run the Tucson Marathon in three days (!), my apologies. The good news is that I’ll board a plane tomorrow morning and won’t be online for a few days, so this is the last you’ll hear about it. Well, the last you’ll hear until I get back, that is.
Anyone who’s been around me this week has probably noticed that I’m going a little nuts. This is apparently pre-marathon jitters, as well as a little effect of “the taper,” when you cut down the mileage to rest up before The Big Run. In fact, I just discovered tapermadness.org, a Web site dedicated to the craziness that apparently comes before a marathon. One of the running bloggers I follow posted something about it last night, and I’ve seen plenty of “taper madness” mentions all over the Web in recent days as people build up to winter marathons. I went through a couple weeks of absolute hell last summer when I was injured and couldn’t run at all, so I think it’s a little like that — I’ve gotten used to the extra endorphins as I’ve built up my mileage.
So, to those I’ve driven nuts this week, it’s almost over!
By the way, also on Sunday 6,000 people will be running the California International Marathon in Sacramento. Good luck to all! You can catch it locally on Channel 3.

Thanks for the shout-out and good luck in your race. I’ll be watching for a race report
Happy End of Taper Madness!!
Good luck, Layla! No break a leg wishes here.
