To truly understand winemaking, you've got to get your hands into grapes. If you can plunk down $400 per person, you can experience full-immersion Lodi winemaking and tasting all weekend September 25 & 26 at the first annual Taste of Lodi Wine Camp.

You and around 25 other die-hard wine lovers will get into the heat of actual harvesting at whatever couple of vineyards happen to be ripe for the pickin'. They'll then feed you lunch with the winemaker, followed by wine blending and a food and wine pairing class. Capping off the night will be a winery dinner and an included overnight hotel room.

To sweeten the deal, you'll get a bottle of wine, wine camp hat and shirt, and VIP entrance to the Taste of Lodi on Sunday. The price bumps up $50 each if you don't buy tickets by August 15. So get to www.TasteofLodi.com or 1-800-798-1810 now.
