Oh yes, it’s all the buzz these days in the food world – salty pork fat and chocolate.

I first heard the murmurings about this delectable combination at the Ferry Building in San Francisco and had to give it a try. The best chicharrones I have ever had are the fresh ones at Rancho San Miguel.

Simply melt some good quality semi-sweet chocolate chips and drizzle over bite-sized pieces of the salty, crunchy pork goodness. Top with a generous shake of cayenne pepper for an amazing salty, sweet, spicy, rich flavor experience.

This is truly a wonderfully amazing guilty pleasure; you must give it a try!
