Play of the Game: The Lady Tigers ran away http://www.lodinews.com/sports/article_97fb796e-41dd-11e1-bcfb-001871e3ce6c.html"> with this game in the third quarter, and Tori Schallberger's highlight-reel 3-pointer to end the period served as an exclamation point of sorts.

Edison had been firing 3-pointers all night -- many of them good looks -- but found little success. So how demoralizing must it have been to see Schallberger beat the buzzer with a completely awkward attempt?

With the clock winding down, Tokay's senior guard nearly lost the ball, dribbled into (and out of) trouble in the left corner, and heaved an off-balance fadeaway that hit nothing but net.

In the midst of a stellar 21-point, 15-rebound performance, that's how you knew she was feeeling it.

"It just happened," Schallberger said. "I just threw it up."

And no, that sequence wasn't drawn up in coach Jennifer Bauer's playbook.

"No. No. No," Bauer said afterwards. "(But) I'm not going to say 'No' to a 3-pointer that goes in. It was a broken play that ended up ... not so broken."

Vikings collapse on 'D': Edison coach Damion McMiller was not a happy camper after seeing his team give up fast break after fast break at the Jungle on Tuesday.

"The girls just lost their mental toughness," he said. "It was kind of the frustration from the misses, and no communication. We have to communicate more on defense."
