I got a great e-mail over the New Years holiday from Doug Rader, father of Lodi Marine Adam Rader stationed in Afghanistan.

He and the other Marines of India Company have a warm feeling about the people of Lodi and I thought I should pass it on. Here's the bulk of Doug's message to me:

Hi Marty. Happy Holidays.

Dana & I were lucky enough to be able to speak with Adam early Christmas morning and we also received this picture via his wife.

He asked that we thank "Lodi Support Our Troops" and "Project Thank You" on behalf of Adam and the members of the 3rd Battalion/5th Marine Regiment, India Company.

These two organizations provided enough care packages so that each of the guys that he is stationed with received one. The Marines were extremely grateful for the gifts and inspired by the generosity and support. These guys are stationed in a remote forward operating base and don't have many of the comforts of home.  In fact everything that they get is by air drop.

I would like get some recognition for the work that those groups do.

Kindest regards,

Doug

P.S. Adam's the one with the Santa Claus hat. Just kidding, he's front row, farthest right with the watch.

Thanks for the message Doug. We'll get on it.
