Last week I put up an item about by son Rob the Air Force firefighter.

I don't mean to be tedious, but you know what it's like being a father. You have to treat the kids fairly. So even if it's not fair to thrust this on you, patient reader, please understand.

Mike Weybret and his film school buddies produced an award winning five-minute film for the San Diego State Campus Movie Fest.

The awards they won belong to the film's lovely leading lady Amber Neukum, the festival's best actress, and musician Ryan Erwin whose driving pop music won best score.

Here's a You Tube link to An Early Autumn's Hope.

I hope you enjoy it (almost) as much as Christi and I did.

Marty, The film was wonderful. Anyone who has a family member serving needs to take a look at it. Can't describe the gamut of feelings it stirred. Thanks.

Should graduations return to the Grape Bowl?

Lodi Unified leaders are moving Lodi and Tokay high school graduations from the Grape Bowl to the Spanos Center at UOP in Stockton. They cite limited seating, costs and unpredictable weather at the Grape Bowl. But others say graduations at the Grape Bowl are an important Lodi tradition, and one reason many supported renovating the stadium. What do you think?
