Update on Emma: She's out of the hospital
Posted on
November 3, 2011
More good news: Emma Greene has been released from Lucile
Packard Children's Hospital at Stanford.
She's now living at the Ronald McDonald House adjacent to the
hospital, a transitional housing center for longer-term
patients.
Emma has Cystic Fibrosis, which affects the respiratory system.
She graduated at the top of her class last spring at Lodi High.
After her recovery, she plans to enroll at UC Davis.
Emma underwent lung and liver transplants at the hospital in
early October. She's had some problems with nausea, but she is
making steady progress.
"She gets inpatient. She'd like to be even further along now,
but that's how she is," Hayley Greene said Thursday of her
high-achieving daughter.
Because of construction at the hospital, Emma's doctors are
suggesting she move from Ronald McDonald house to get away from
dust and debris.
That will mean added housing expenses for the Greenes, who have
an account set up through the
Children's Organ Donation Association website atwww.cota.org.
