Christi and I were worried to hear rumors last month that Bear Valley Ski Resort  might not open for the 2012-13 season.

Lots of Lodians enjoy winter sports and Bear Valley is the closest ski resort to Lodi.

Not only would that leave a lot of Lodi area ski buffs with a longer drive and one fewer mountain to ski, it would have devastated the local economy in the Bear Valley area.

It wasn't a false alarm but a business dispute that's now been settled.

Bear Valley General Store owner Denise Carter is elated. She says the Calaveras Enterprise has about as many facts as the resort's partners are willing to share at this time.

Here's a link to the Enterprise's front page scoop.

Should graduations return to the Grape Bowl?

Lodi Unified leaders are moving Lodi and Tokay high school graduations from the Grape Bowl to the Spanos Center at UOP in Stockton. They cite limited seating, costs and unpredictable weather at the Grape Bowl. But others say graduations at the Grape Bowl are an important Lodi tradition, and one reason many supported renovating the stadium. What do you think?
