Lodi on the egg-frying map

On the theme of: What is news?
A quick note.
Last week, I wrote at (probably excessive) length about our
coverage of cheap coffeee in Lodi.
Some readers felt the java quest was a non-story.
We'd previously heard the same about photo chief Brian Feulner's
attempt to fry an egg on concrete and asphalt.
Well, check it out: Brian's video is highlighted on a USA Today
blog that discusses egg frying in hot weather. The entry is
accompanied by a graphic that points out the following:
• To fry an egg, it must reach at least 158 degrees.
• Even if the asphalt is hot enough to fry that egg, the rough
surface will not result in an evenly cooked egg.
By the way, the bloggers at USAT noted that Brian, who took a
few slugs from unimpressed local readers, did a "commendable" job
with his experiment.

Oh, a thank you to Layla Bohm, our eagle-eyed cops/courts
reporter, for spotting this item and passing it to me.
