Beats shuffled at Lodi News-Sentinel
Posted on
October 28, 2011
With Jordan Guinn moving to The Record, we've hired Sara Jane
Pohlman as a reporter. Sara Jane is a Lodi High School and Sonoma
State grad and she is off to a flying start.
With Jordan's departure and Sara's arrival, we've reshuffled the
beat coverage here a bit. I shared the following memo with the
staff and thought I would post it for anyone in the community who
might be interested.
Whew. We've had quite a round of change of late. Just wanted
to sort out who is doing what now. Here goes:
Ross continues to cover county government, religion,
outlying rural communities and lead on political coverage. He
continues to work the Sunday shift.
Maggie covers Lodi city hall. She covers courts and cops
Monday when Katie is out. Maggie is now our online news coordinator
and writes the blog, City Buzz, too.
Jennifer Bonnett is covering Galt city hall, Galt high
school and elementary districts, Galt business and the
news-oriented side of Lodi Memorial. (Pam is covering the feature
side of Lodi Memorial and health/fitness.)
Kate is covering Lodi and Galt public safety, SJ sheriff's
and jail and juvenile hall, outlying fire districts along with
wine, biz and real estate. She covers the Saturday shift. She heads
up our contributed content effort.
Sara is covering Lodi Unified, water, ag and resource
(environmental) issues. She is also lead for covering youth
culture/campus life and related issues. She helps on the desk on
Thursday nights.
Lauren continues with Lodi Living, including arts and
entertainment and is helping on youth culture/issues as
well.
Pam continues with Panorama, including Taste, clubs,
milestones, Weekender and the Learning page. She writes the "Saving
with Pam," column.
Ed works sports but also, as time permits, will cover Delta
College under Scott Howell's direction. He helps out on the desk on
Wednesday night.
Machelle continues as newsroom assistant, but is taking on
twice-a-month contributions to Career Insight.
What have I missed? Let me know.
