Dear readers: We recently received the following request for information about the Parkin family of Victor, victims of a terrible crime spree in the early 1970s. We're passing this along in case anyone can be of assistance.

I'm a distant relative of the Parkin family whom you wrote about in a 2007 piece which I found on the Internet.

I've been searching Google to learn about my grandmother's brother, Ab Parkin, who left Canada about 1910 to seek his fortune in the United States. Nobody in my generation seemed to know what became of him. However, my Google searching turned up the story of the murders of 1973 in Lodi, and a few other items about Ab's descendants. Now I'd like to make contact with the family to fill in the details of the family history there's much more to it than that horrible mass murder, I'm sure.

Walter's brother, Norman Parkin, may still be living in Lodi, although I have been unable to contact him (I've only been trying for a few days, however.) My e-mail address is alanr@rogers.com and my mailing address is:

Alan E. Richards,

23 Woodborough St.,

London, ON, Canada,

N6H 4R3
