Nowhere to run

If you live in the Lodi area, chances are last Tuesday you didn’t leave the house with little ones. (Although I do know a couple of friends who planned ahead and went here to allow their kids to blow off some steam.)

But what about if you were STUCK in the house. Several families I personally know spent Tuesday AND part of Wednesday in the dark. With no electricity. No running water. No TV. And toddlers.

Unfortunately in this day and age, too many of us rely on DVDs and other electronics to pass the time. But without those back ups, how do you keep busy with the under-five crowd?

Share your ideas here. I may need them in the future.

I was one of those parents who went to Impact Sports Center. Great idea and only $5 for an hour of bounce houses. And we did have power that day! Praise the Lord! But in addition to these two things, I also invited my 4 year old’s little buddy over. Those two entertained each other and baby brother for 8 hours on that rainy day! They played, watched movies, did puzzles and just ran around like crazies! I even took a snooze on the couch while the baby was down and the two big boys watched a movie. We ended the night with a pizza/salad buffet dinner at Round Table!

I think inviting a friend over on a rainy day is a great idea to entertain your kids and help give a fellow mom a break at the same time. For such a terrible day, we found a lot to do.

This is Impact Sports Center! Thanks for the comments!

I was so surprised to see how many moms and kids we had in the gym that day. Wow? You were all very brave to be out that weather!

We will keep doing this. It has become on of our most sought after programs.

Again, thanks for coming!
