A U.S. News Report released last week lists the top colleges and universities that have accepted transfer students in recent years.

(Coincidentially, most are located in places known for sunny weather such as Florida, Arizona and, of course, California -- to which I'd move if I went to high school where it snowed, too.)

But why are these students transfering? Did many of them start at a community college until they could get into their so-called dream school? Or did they truly escape bad weather, worse unemployment rates or something else?

On a side note, half of the schools in the top 10 aren't even ranked by U.S. News in its other lists of top schools. Wonder what's luring students there?

Got any ideas? Share them here.
