Hosting garage sales are on the bottom of my list, but I few months ago I really needed to purge so I bit the bullet and held one. I had not one, not two but THREE huge "box" televisions. In my naiveté, I thought it would be no problem to get $20 out of each of them. They were fully functional and two even had remote controls. Boy, was I wrong. For a while, I was thinking I was going to have to PAY someone to take them from me!

If it happened to me, it might happen to you....but I have an option to throw your way.

Jim Elliot High School is hosting an ongoing eWaste program and will even schedule a pick up. Big box televisions? No problem. Old computers? No problem. Refrigerators? No problem! Does it matter if it works? NO!

Just call Kathy at (209) 712-0903 and let her know you have items you would like to be recycled and they will take care of the rest.

If you are doing a spring clean and would like to drop everything off at once, Elliot is hosting a one-day event on April 12 from 10-2 at 2695 W. Vine St.

Here is a list of items that can be recycled:

• all televisions

• computer monitors

• fax machines

• desktop copiers

• telephones

• vacuum cleaners

• keyboards

• mice
• networking equipment
• misc wires and cords
• household phones
• medical equipment
• video games
• computers
• calculators
• cell phones
• printers
• scanners
• laptops
• power tools
• small appliances
• stereo systems
