For years, parents have debated whether to have their children regularly vaccinated against diseases such as mumps and rubella. Some worry the regular shots are linked to autism, while others think there's nothing to worry about and would rather protect their children from potentially deadly disease.

The Sacramento Bee published an interesting article over the weekend detailing which schools in that region have the most unvaccinated kindergartners. The results might be surprising to some.

Data showed private schools were at the top of the list, followed by charter schools. Do these parents know something the parents of public school students don't?

Does location matter? The Bee survey found parents further north in Placer and El Dorado counties were twice as likely not to vaccinate their children as Sacramento County parents. (San Joaquin County rates were unavailable.)

Tell me what you think here about immunizations. And just in case you want to get your child vaccinated, here's an easy-to-use chart.
