Stuff the bus (and your face)

August 10, 2012
A press release found its way into my in box this week alerting me that Krispy Kreme Doughnuts and The Salvation Army are partnering to help prepare local students for the upcoming school year by collecting school supplies during their 2012 “Stuff the Bus” campaign. The goal is to help ease the cost of school supplies for parents that come with the start of school each year.
Yes, school has already began in Lodi Unified, but the “Stuff the Bus” campaign that started earlier this week will run through Sept. 9. All types of school supplies are needed, and supporters are asked to help by dropping off new school supplies at either of the Stockton Krispy Kreme doughnut shops located at 7860 West Lane and 2809 West March Lane.
As a sweet reward, supporters will receive one free glazed doughnut for a single school supply item donation, and one fee dozen of glazed doughnuts for each donation of a backpack that has school supplies inside. Donations will be given to the Stockton Salvation Army and distributed to local youth through its social service programs.
Where else are events like this happening? Please share them here.
