I just received the following email which was worth sharing due to its encouraging content. Keep up the good work teachers. You never know when you are instructing a student who will grow up to pay it forward.
Dear Learning Link Coordinator,
I am a former Lodi public (Washington and Lodi High) and private (St. Peters) school graduate and I am now a teacher in New Jersey. It might be of some interest to some of my former teachers and classmates of some recent endeavors my students have embarked on. I teach in a largely Hispanic first generation school and we have had some success over the past couple of years. The message I hope this brings is that anyone can compete if given the chance and direction. Something I always have thought that my own education in Lodi provided.
Please see some of the success I have had with my students in middle school in a low income area of Urban New Jersey.
1st place nationally for the Lexus Eco Challenge (Scholastic)
This year we were national finalist for the Green Thumb Challenge
Last year we won:
Disney Planet Challenge
EPA region 2 environmental education award-
National Education Startup Challenge Winners Middle School-
Thanks for your time.
Sincerely, Joel Naatus (Lodi High 1989)
