Congratulations to the 2012 Teacher Classroom Hero of primary education, Thida Pickard. Pickard is a fifth-grade teacher at Lawrence Elementary School.
Students who nominated Pickard felt that she inspired them to be the best they could be through her constant encouragement. These students said she teaches in a way that makes sense and helps them understand the material, even when it's complicated. Pickard's classroom motto, “Never settle for less, strive for the best” has been taken to heart by her students as they make decisions about their future.
Students feel she is always there to listen and support them in and out of the classroom. To hear more about this fantastic teacher, attend the Lodi Community Band Concert on Sunday, Dec. 9 at 2 p.m. This free community event will be at Hutchins Street Square 125 S. Hutchins St., Lodi.
