Teacher in Texas takes bullying lesson too far 0 comments

A story is circulating online about a teacher at a school in Texas with an extremely unorthodox method of disciplining what she called a bully in her classroom. 

The teacher lined up her 24 kindergarten students and instructed them to slap the student who was misbehaving. She got the idea after asking a colleague for tips of how to deal with the misbehaving child. 

After the hitting, the teachers instructed the child not to tell his parents.

The district investigated and put both teachers on administrative leave. The one who allegedly orchestrated the punishment will not be returning to work next year.

I've heard of some pretty creative discipline, but this one crosses the line. The teachers claim they were trying to teach the class why bullying is wrong. Instead, they may have traumatized a child for life. It's not clear what the child did to be labeled a bully.
