Attention artistic students!
In case you haven't yet heard, Congressman Jerry McNerney is sponsoring an art contest open to all high schoolers in his district. This basically includes Lodi Unified School District.
According to a press release we just got in the office, artwork is due by Friday, April 27 and can be submitted at McNerney’s Stockton office at 2222 Grand Canal Blvd., Suite 7.
Here are the guidelines for the Congressional Art Competition:
- Artwork must be two-dimensional.
- Each piece can be no larger than 28” x 28” x 4” (28 inches high, 28 inches wide, and 4 inches deep), including the frame.
- Artwork cannot weigh more than 15 pounds.
- Acceptable media for artwork including oil, acrylics and watercolor paintings; pastels, colored pencil, pencil, charcoal, ink, marker drawings; collage; computer-generated art; lithographs, silkscreen and block prints; mixed media and photography
Winners will be announced at a special exhibition on May 14 in Stockton. Stay tuned for more details.

Maybe he should either be doing his job or sponsoring a spelling contest.
