Learning Link is pleased to announce the 2013 Classroom Hero for Elementary Education, Heather Marini from Reese Elementary School. With 90 primary school teachers nominated for the award, Marini rose to the top with statements from students like these:

"When I never believed in myself, she was there (to believe in me)."

"She never gave up on me."

"She stays in during recess and lunch if we don't understand."

"If I ever had a problem, I could always turn to her."

"She is my friend, my teacher and my inspiration to do the best I can."

Other students noted her ability to make class fun while still disciplining when necessary, her ability to integrate humor and personal experience into her teaching style, the way that she taught "tricks" to remember material and the fact that she often has something nice to say when students walk in the door.

Well done Mrs. Marini!

You are all invited to attend the Lodi Community Band Christmas Concert on December 15 at 2:00 p.m. to watch Mrs. Marini receive her award. The concert will be held at Hutchins Street Square and is free of charge. Come support the 2013 Classroom Heroes and the Lodi Community Band.

The 2013 Classroom Hero for Secondary Education will be announced tomorrow! Check the blog!
