Happy Wednesday everyone. For the past few days, we have run a series on the results of the Lodi City Council election. On Saturday, I looked at Alan Nakanishi winning every single precinct in Lodi and on Tuesday, I focused on the precincts where the other candidates had their best showing.

Tomorrow I will have a story on how absentee voting affects campaiging.

I had an extra graphic that didn't make it in the paper. To show how well the winning candidates did this year, I figured it would be best to compare it to the votes and percentages former election winners received over the years.

Alan Nakanishi, 9.730 votes, 22.9%

Phil Katzakian, 6,621, 15.6%

Larry Hansen, 6,110, 14.4%

JoAnne Mounce, 12,952, 38.8%

Bob Johnson, 9,501, 28.4%

Susan Hitchcock, 9,407, 22.3%

Larry Hansen, 8,396, 19.8%

Phil Katzakian, 5,575, 13.2%

Bob Johnson, 10,254, 29.4%

JoAnne Mounce, 9,877, 29.3%

Susan Hitchcock, 8,623, 22.2%

Larry Hansen, 7,272, 18.7%

John Beckman, 7,146, 18.4%

Should graduations return to the Grape Bowl?

Lodi Unified leaders are moving Lodi and Tokay high school graduations from the Grape Bowl to the Spanos Center at UOP in Stockton. They cite limited seating, costs and unpredictable weather at the Grape Bowl. But others say graduations at the Grape Bowl are an important Lodi tradition, and one reason many supported renovating the stadium. What do you think?
