Just got back from the fireworks lottery.

About 20 people from non-profits gathered in Carnegie Forum to see if they would have the opportunity to sell fireworks around the Fourth of July this year. The city had six spots, and 47 non-profits applied.

Everyone quietly watched 10-year-old volunteer Kaitlin Newport pick numbered ping pong balls out of a bingo hopper.

Here are the results:

21. Lodi/Tokay Rotary Club

12. Share Homes Family Services

31. Pregnancy Resource Center

11. Lodi Mexican American Lions Club

33. Lodi Sunrise Rotary

36. LOEL Center and Gardens

Alternates:

3. Downtown Lodi Business Partnership

43. American Legion
