The city of Galt is still waiting for the final ruling from a judge on whether a local marijuana dispensary will have to close.

Sacramento Superior Court Judge Shelleyanne Chang issued a proposed ruling on July 28 that would grant the city a temporary restraining order against the Galt Wellness Center.

The center had five days to protest the ruling. The judge was expected to finalize the ruling late last week or early this week but the city and dispensary are still waiting, said Steve Rudolph, Galt's city attorney.

"Sometimes they get backlogged, and it doesn't come up to the top of their desk, and there is no time limit on when they can sign it," Rudolph said.

If the temporary restraining order is finalized, it would require the pot dispensary to close while the court process proceeds, which could take longer than a year.
